Butterfly have straw-like elongated mouth tube called a proboscis that is present under its head that helps them in sucking.

The proboscis is a coiled structure that is uncoiled by a butterfly by the process called siphoning. After this they such honey and coil it back.

An adult butterfly has a small little pipe like a straw that is coiled under most of the time.

Butterflies are mostly dependent on liquid foods like honey or nectar obtained from flowers.

Butterflies also use a proboscis to drink water from shallow water sources.
